Register for the 1999 DAC University Booth and Travel Grant Application

Fill in the blanks below to register and/or apply for a travel grant. A faculty member MUST be the primary contact and the sponsor of the graduate students listed in item 11. Graduate students cannot be listed as the primary contact. Your input will be mailed to the booth coordinator. Thanks!

    Application for University Booth Travel Grant

    This year the University Booth is directly supervising travel grants. Travel grants are primarily intended to support student participation at the University Booth. Exceptions for faculty are possible.

    Applications must be submitted by April 16th. Awards will be announced by May 1st. Late applications will be accepted, but funds may no longer be available.

    In order to be eligible for travel grant participating universities must submit a short proposal by filling in the following forms. If you are a presenting author, please contact DAC and its travel grant program for presenting authors.

    To apply for a University Booth travel grant all fields must be supplied.

  9. Summary of the Activity Planned at the booth. (Enter one or two sentences only. This summary will be included in the University Booth Flyer distributed to DAC attendees.)

  10. Full Description of the Activity Planned (maximum one page). This proposal should clearly explain the nature and type of demonstration. The proposal should clearly describe its interest to DAC attendees. Include on-line references as appropriate.

  11. The names of a maximum of two students that will be present at the booth. Travel grants are primarily for students. Exceptions for faculty are possible. Please explain in the summary section if the application is for a faculty member.

  12. Proposed Schedule of times the demonstration will be presented at the booth. (One hour blocks.)
    PLEASE use the Demonstration Schedule to determine which slots are available !
    We would like to see one morning and one after block selected for each day if possible.

  13. An Estimated Budget broken out by item. The travel grant only pays for actual expenses related to the demonstration at the booth. Allowable expenses include travel (typically airfare), DAC registration, hotel, and shipping of computing equipment that is not satisfied by booth equipment. Original recepts must be supplied after DAC for reimbursement. "Per diem" costs such as meals are specifically excluded from reimubursement. Travel grants may only cover part of the total budget submitted.
