Time Line and Chronology
1998 SIGDA University Booth

Late January - Host Universities are chosen and host machine configurations
are determined. (Last week of January).

Initial postings to USENET groups and mailing lists to request
for participation for demonstrations. Initial contact with vendors too.

Early February - GES is contacted to determine booth configuration.

Mid February - Mailing to authors from MPA supplied mailing labels asking
for their participation.

Early March - EDA Vendors are contacted to participate in the booth
with information on their university programs.

Mid March - Publicity on news groups and mailing lists. Student
travel grants are arranged with DAC for students maintaining
host computers.

Mid April - Preliminary scheduling of demonstrators and hosts.

Late April - Publicity and contacting additional participants.
-
Early May - Hosts receive networking information.
-
Mid May - Host and demonstrator Exhibitor Badges are arranged with GES.
Hosts should begin serious machine setup, determine how to set IP and
hostname, and ensure machine boots when off their local network.

Late May - Schedule is finalized and University Booth schedule is supplied
to MPA for inclusion in DAC attendee materials.

June 1 - Hosts receive final shipping information and details.

Thursday June 11 - Booth construction begins at the Moscone Center

Friday June 12 - Boot construction continues

Saturday June 13 - Hosts setup their computers
-
Sunday June 14 - Hosts assist demonstrators to configure and test
their demonstrations

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - University Booth open and running for
DAC Attendees

Wednesday June 17th 5:00pm - Hosts arrive to pack computers to be shipped.
This is critical. Machines must be packed and ready to ship by 7:00pm
