ACM/SIGDA FPGA and Reconfigurable Computing Technical Committee
ACM/SIGDA Technical Committee on FPGA and reconfigurable computing is a new
initiative to establish new research directions and provide new initiatives,
support and ideas in the field of FPGA and reconfigurable computing. The
committee will focus on providing a link between the research community and ACM/SIGDA.
Committee Members:
- Steve Trimberger (Xilinx) - Chair
- Vikas Chandra (Cswitch) - Co-Chair
- Vaughn Betz (Altera)
- Jason Cong (Univ. of California - Los Angeles)
- Andre' Dehon (Univ. of Pennsylvania)
- Wayne Luk (Imperial College, London)
Activities:
- Wayne Luk and Duncan Buell succeeded in getting their new journal
approved by ACM publications board. "Transactions on Reconfigurable
Technology and Systems" was announced at FPGA 2007.
- ACM Fellows are being nominated from FPGA & Reconfigurable Computing area to promote the field
- We are planning to get a website (perhaps a wiki) which will act as a repository for tutorial articles,
online books, annotated references and so on.
- There is also a plan to initiate a best paper award at the FPGA Conference and the paper will be chosen by the TC.
- With the help of Kati Compton (Univ. of Wisconsin), the TC is working to get a set of benchmarks ready for FPGA research.
- Andre' Dehon is presenting at the Design Automation Summer School, 2007.
