ACM/SIGDA Logic/RTL Synthesis Technical Committee

The ACM/SIGDA Logic/RTL Synthesis Technical Committee provides support for technical activities related to logic synthesis, optimization and verification. It aims to invigorate research in these fields and to promote new directions. The committee is particularly interested in the application of expertise from logic synthesis to emerging areas such as nanotechnology and synthetic biology.

Committee Members:
  1. Malgorzata Marek-Sadowska (UCSB) - Chair
  2. Marc Riedel (U of Minnesota) - Co-chair
  3. Shih-Chieh Chang (National Tsing Hua U, Taiwan)
  4. Rajeev Murgai (Fujitsu Labs of America)
Activities:
  1. The committee will strive for increased funding, visibility and coverage of papers related to logic synthesis in major CAD conferences.
  2. It will provide a link between SIGDA, academia and industry. In particular, it will promote the application of expertise from logic synthesis to new research areas.
  3. It will seek visibility by organizing or sponsoring programming competitions, such as the CADathlon at ICCAD.
  4. It will collect and disseminate benchmarks circuits for research in logic synthesis.
Upcoming events:

The committee will publicize its aims and activities at the International Workshop on Logic and Synthesis (IWLS), May 30 - June 1, San Diego.
